Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Pathley ("Pathley," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use pathley.ai, app.pathley.ai, our AI chat, free tools, and paid recruiting plan products (the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

The short version: we collect the information you give us to build your recruiting plan and run our tools, plus standard analytics about how the site is used. We use trusted service providers to process payments, deliver emails, and power our AI. We never sell your personal information, and we never share your data with third parties for their own marketing.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Athlete profile and intake information — sport, position, graduation year, academic details (such as GPA and test scores), athletic history, club or team affiliation, physical stats, goals, and college preferences that you submit through our chat, tools, or plan intake.
  • Contact and account information — name, email address, and any account credentials you create.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We receive confirmation of your purchase and limited billing details (such as name, email, and card type), but we never see or store your full card number.
  • Communications — messages you send us by email or through the Services, and content you submit to our AI chat and free tools.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data — pages visited, actions taken, referring pages, browser type, device type, operating system, and approximate location derived from IP address.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — we use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our marketing. These tools set cookies and collect usage data as described in Section 6.
  • Security data — IP addresses and request patterns used to detect and block bots, scraping, and abuse of the Services.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To build and deliver your personalized recruiting plan and operate our AI chat and free tools;
  • To process payments and send order confirmations and plan delivery emails;
  • To respond to your questions and provide customer support;
  • To send our newsletter and product updates if you opt in (you can unsubscribe at any time);
  • To understand how the Services are used, improve our products, and develop new features;
  • To secure the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. AI Processing

Pathley uses artificial intelligence to generate recruiting plans, chat responses, and tool outputs. Information you submit — such as your athlete profile and questions — is processed by third-party AI providers as part of delivering these features. These providers process your information on our behalf to generate your outputs; we do not permit them to use your personal information to train their publicly available models under the agreements we operate on.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers — companies that help us operate the Services, including payment processing (Stripe), website and application hosting, database infrastructure, workflow automation, email delivery, AI processing, and analytics (Google). These providers may only use your information to provide services to us.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Pathley, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers — if Pathley is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager to measure site traffic and understand how visitors use Pathley. These services use cookies and collect data such as pages viewed, session duration, device information, and approximate location. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.

7. Children and Student Athletes

Recruiting naturally involves high-school-age athletes, and we take that seriously.

  • The Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
  • Users aged 13–17 may use the Services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, and purchases must be made by an adult.
  • Much of the athlete information we process is submitted by parents on behalf of their children. Parents may contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete their child's information.

8. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations (such as tax and payment records), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Recruiting plan intake information and delivered plans are retained so we can support you, honor our error-correction guarantee, and let you reference your plan later. You can request deletion at any time as described below.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Regardless of location, we extend these basics to everyone:

  • Access and correction — ask us what personal information we hold about you or your child, and ask us to correct it;
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information, subject to records we're legally required to keep;
  • Marketing opt-out — unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in any email;
  • Cookies — control analytics cookies as described in Section 6.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@pathley.ai. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and respond within a reasonable timeframe (and within any timeframe required by applicable law).

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, bot and abuse protection, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we work to protect your data and will notify you of any breach as required by law.

11. International Users

Pathley is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
